Unified Information Day

On February 27, 2026, the Educational Institution “University of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus” held a Unified Information Day. The main topic for discussion was: “THE DEFENSIVE CAPABILITY OF THE BELARUSIAN ARMY AND PATRIOTISM IN MODERN CONDITIONS”.
The report was delivered by the Vice-Rector for Academic and Methodological Work, Egor Vladimirovich Gusakov, who emphasised that when congratulating compatriots, veterans and servicemen on the Day of Defenders of the Fatherland and the Armed Forces in 2025, the President of the Republic of Belarus, Alexander Grigoryevich Lukashenko, particularly noted: “Our high-tech, compact and mobile army, the entire military organisation of the state are capable of responding to any challenges of the time and today are a reliable shield for the people, a guarantor of peace on Belarusian soil.”
At the same time, Egor Vladimirovich noted that our country, the Republic of Belarus, as is known, has more fully than many other post-Soviet countries preserved and even enhanced all the best that we inherited from our ancestors – from the great country of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics. This also applies to our army: the military traditions of courage and bravery, heroism and selflessness, devotion to the Fatherland, and unbreakable combat brotherhood, laid down in Soviet times, still define the image of the modern Belarusian army today.
Summarising, E.V. Gusakov emphasised that our country has never been and will never be a source of evil and violence. An indisputable value for Belarusians has always been and remains peace. Our position was clearly stated by the Head of State A.G. Lukashenko on December 9, 2025, at a meeting of the Security Council of the Republic of Belarus: “We do not want war, we do not consider anyone our opponents or rivals. But nevertheless, we are preparing for this war so that it does not happen.”
