In 1986, he graduated from the Belarusian Institute of Railway Engineers in Gomel with a degree in “Diesel Locomotives and Diesel Locomotive Operations,” qualification “Engineer-Mechanic of Railways.” In 1986–1991, he worked at the Belarusian Institute of Railway Engineers as an engineer and junior researcher at the Department of Structural Mechanics. In 1991–1992 – design engineer at the research laboratory of bench testing of the GSKB of PA “GOMSELMASH”; in 1992–1995 – researcher, assistant, senior lecturer at the Department of Applied Mathematics and Reliability Theory of the Belarusian State University of Transport.
In 2002–2010 – teacher of general technical and special disciplines, Deputy Director for Educational, Methodological and Research Work at the Lida College of the Educational Institution “Grodno State University named after Yanka Kupala,” Lida. In 2010–2014 – Director of this college. Since August 2004 – part-time (0.5 position) Associate Professor, and since June 2007 – Professor at the Department of Technical Mechanics of the Educational Institution “GrSU named after Y. Kupala.” From September 2014 to the present – Professor at the Department of Theoretical and Applied Mechanics of the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics of the Belarusian State University.
In 1995, he defended his Candidate’s dissertation, and in 2005, his Doctoral dissertation in speciality 01.02.06 – Dynamics, Strength of Machines, Instruments and Equipment in the field of technical sciences. The academic title of Professor was awarded in 2021.
He participated as a supervisor and principal investigator in 9 assignments of the State Research Programmes of the Republic of Belarus, a number of major economic contracts (OJSC “Gomselmash,” OJSC “Gomeltransneft Druzhba”), and a BRFFI – RFBR grant.
He completed a research internship in China in 2001 (Southwest Jiaotong University, Chengdu).
In March–April 2018, he delivered an invited lecture course in theoretical mechanics at the Joint Institute (Belarusian State University – Dalian University of Technology) in Dalian, China.
Laureate of the President of the Republic of Belarus Scholarship for Talented Young Scientists (2007). Awarded the honorary jubilee badge “Tribo-Fatigue-25” (2010) and Honorary Diplomas for contributions to the development of tribo-fatigue (1996, 2000, 2002, 2005, 2010, 2015), and has repeatedly been recognised for productive scientific and pedagogical work with Certificates of Honour from the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus, the State Committee on Science and Technology of the Republic of Belarus, the Grodno Regional Council of Deputies and the Grodno Regional Executive Committee, the Belarusian State University, Grodno State University named after Y. Kupala, and the Administration of the Oktyabrsky District of Grodno.

Author of more than 250 scientific works, including 5 scientific monographs, 12 textbooks (including: one with the approval of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus, two with the approval of the Republican Educational and Methodological Association of Natural Sciences), more than 100 articles in leading domestic and foreign journals, 3 state and 3 interstate standards, 1 USSR author’s certificate for an invention, 5 Eurasian patents, 1 patent of the Republic of Belarus for a utility model.
A.V. Bogdanovich is a member of the Dissertation Defence Council D 02.27.01 at the Belarusian State University of Transport. Member of the editorial board of the international scientific and technical journal “Mechanics of Machines, Mechanisms and Materials.”
His most significant results have been obtained in the study of various types of wear-fatigue damage – contact-mechanical, friction-mechanical, corrosion-mechanical fatigue, fretting fatigue, which have important practical significance for mechanical engineering and transport enterprises.
Research interests:
- prediction of limit states, reliability and service life of power systems of machines and equipment
- experimental investigation of the regularities of complex wear-fatigue damage of materials and models of power systems;
- development of unified methods of wear-fatigue testing of models of power systems and their elements;
- creation of a new class of equipment for wear-fatigue testing;
- theoretical and experimental research in the field of dynamics, strength, wear resistance, crack resistance of elements and systems of machines and structures;
- optimisation of power systems of machines according to the criteria of fatigue resistance and wear resistance.
