Associate Professor of the Department
Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Associate Professor
In 1992, he entered Belarusian State University at the Faculty of Radiophysics and Electronics. During his studies at the university, he obtained specialities in radiophysics and electronics (BSU), economic cybernetics (BSU), and translator (international courses “Continent”). From 1997 to 2000, he was a postgraduate student at the Department of Physical Electronics, and in 2000 he successfully completed postgraduate studies, defending his Candidate’s dissertation on the topic “Formation of microbeams of X-ray radiation by a multi-element refractive lens” and was awarded the degree of Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences. In 2005, he was awarded the academic title of Associate Professor. His main scientific achievements are related to the development of X-ray waveguides based on glass microcapillaries and refractive X-ray lenses. A unique design of a refractive X-ray lens capable of forming images of objects with submicron resolution has been developed. Research in the field of refractive X-ray optics, conducted jointly with the SPring-8 scientific centre (Japan), led to the creation of the world’s first X-ray microscope.
Research interests:
- X-ray optics and X-ray methods of material research;
- methods of analysis of micro- and nanostructures and properties of solids;
- digital methods of recording and processing measurement results;
- computerised teaching aids.
