The implementation of the doctoral program is aimed at training specialists who have the skills to organize research work in a new direction of scientific research or to develop existing relevant areas of scientific research, analytical generalization of the results of scientific activity, allowing to prepare a qualifying scientific work (dissertation) for the degree of doctor of sciences.

The educational program of doctoral studies is implemented in the full-time form of education (the duration of study is not more than three years) or in the form of an application (the duration of study is not more than five years).

The educational program of doctoral studies at the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus is implemented in 82 specialties in 34 scientific organizations.

Doctoral studies at the expense of the republican budget are carried out on the basis of a state order, at the request of organizations in need of highly qualified researchers
