Library history
The Library of the Institute for the Training of Scientific Personnel of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus (hereinafter referred to as the Library) was established on the basis of the decision of the Academic Council of the Institute (Protocol No. 6 of 26.09.07). From that moment, the Library provides the educational process with the necessary literature, purchases various publications on new, opening and unsecured literature specialties.
The library has at its disposal 2 rooms with an area of 48 m2 (reading room) and 24 m2 (book depository). The premises are equipped with new furniture, catalogs (alphabetical and systematic). The reading room is designed for 22 workplaces.
Exhibition racks are informational and reference in nature. You can get acquainted with the periodicals (3 types of newspapers and 4 types of magazines), see new arrivals of books in the Library. To date, the Library has a collection of 10,015 copies.
In order to better organize the learning process and more efficient use of literature, parts of the library fund are placed at all departments of the Institute, in accordance with the topics of structural divisions.
The library fund is constantly replenished.
The documents in the Library are classified according to the Universal Decimal Classification (UDC) and represent the following branches of knowledge:
– humanities and technical sciences (textbooks and teaching aids, etc.) – 9,251 copies;
– natural, medical and agricultural (textbooks and reference manuals) – 463 copies;
– general literature (reference and encyclopedic literature) – 26 copies;
– economic (educational and reference manuals) – 30 copies;
– fiction – 245 copies.
The library, if necessary, receives methodological support from of the Yakub Kolas Central Scientific Library of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, closely cooperates with it, exchanges books, participates in seminars and exhibitions.
