Rector of the University of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus Marat Zhilinsky took part in the Second National School of Rectors.

On August 26-27, an event in the field of higher education took place in Minsk – the Second National School of Rectors. The theme of the forum: “University of the Future: Advanced Personnel Training, Technological Sovereignty, Education in the Digital Environment, Export Potential of Higher Education.”

The organizer of the event was the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Belarus. The venues for discussions were the Belarusian Television and Radio Company, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the National Academy of Sciences and the High Technology Park.

The work was organized at the leading specialised venues of the country, which allowed participants not only to discuss challenges and growth points in key areas, but also to familiarise themselves with best practices.

The forum was attended by rectors of leading universities of the country, heads of relevant departments, representatives of the National Academy of Sciences, the High Technology Park and business circles.

An important part of the programme was a solemn ceremony – the laying of flowers at the Victory Monument on Victory Square.

The second day of the forum began with a visit to the laboratories of the National Children’s Technopark. The event concluded with a plenary session and an open discussion chaired by the Minister of Education of the Republic of Belarus Andrei Ivanets.

The result of the work was the adoption of the Resolution of the Second National School of Rectors and a package of management recommendations for the entire higher education system. These documents will consolidate the vector of development and adaptation of Belarusian universities to new realities.
