Rector of the University M.G. Zhilinsky took part in the IV meeting of the Expert-Consultative Russian-Belarusian Council on History.

Rector of the University of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus Marat Zhilinsky took part in the IV meeting of the Expert-Consultative Russian-Belarusian Council on History and the II International Scientific and Practical Conference “Methodology and Terminology of Historical Knowledge in the Context of Strengthening Russian-Belarusian Socio-Humanitarian Interaction,” which were held on October 10-11, 2025, on the premises of Dagestan State University (Makhachkala, Russian Federation).

The fourth meeting of the ECS continued the joint work of Russian and Belarusian historians in countering attempts to distort and falsify the historical past of the fraternal peoples. The event brought together leading historians, university teachers, archivists, and museum specialists from Russia and Belarus. On behalf of the leadership of the Republic of Dagestan, the guests were welcomed by the Advisor to the Head of Dagestan, Enrik Muslimov.

The program included a plenary session, thematic section meetings, and ceremonies for signing agreements on scientific cooperation.

Within the framework of the conference, the Rector of the University of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus Marat Zhilinsky and the Rector of Dagestan State University Martazali Rabadanov signed an agreement on international cooperation, providing for the development of academic ties, joint research, and the exchange of teachers and students. The signing of this agreement became an important step in strengthening scientific and educational ties between the universities of Belarus and Dagestan.

During the meeting, the results of the activities of the Expert-Consultative Russian-Belarusian Council on History for the past period were discussed, including the results of mutual peer review of Russian and Belarusian textbooks and teaching aids; the progress of work on the preparation of publications in the Russian-Belarusian “Series of the Expert-Consultative Russian-Belarusian Council on History”; and the implementation of joint scientific and educational projects.

The decisions of the IV meeting of the Expert-Consultative Council were formalized in the Resolution adopted following the results of the event.
