The Council of Young Scientists of the University of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus held its first meeting.

On September 9, 2026, the University of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus hosted the first meeting of the Council of Young Scientists in the 2026/2027 academic year. The meeting brought together first- and second-year Master’s students, as well as representatives of the University’s leadership and staff.

The Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs Dmitry Mazarchuk presented the calendar of the main scientific events for the academic year and urged aspiring researchers not to be afraid of complex interdisciplinary topics and to make more active use of modern digital tools in their work, to engage in real project activities, and to be bolder in putting forward their own initiatives.

The Head of the Master’s Department Natalia Kurilo spoke in detail about preparations for the Republican Competition of Scientific Papers. A start was also given to a new creative project – a competition of video presentations of Master’s degree specialities.

The Chairman of the CYS Lolita Shish informed those present about the available information resources for scientific research and the preparation of Master’s theses and told how the Council helps in promoting the first research projects. The meeting was held in the format of an open dialogue: young scientists enthusiastically proposed their own ideas, which will be included in the CYS work plan for the year.
