The Republican School of Young Scientists “Science – the Choice of the Future” was held at the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus.

The organizers of the event on May 14-15, 2026 were the University of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus and the Council of Young Scientists of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus. The official opening of the event took place in the large conference hall of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus (https://www.sb.by/articles/v-nan-belarusi-nachala-rabotu-respublikanskaya-shkola-molodykh-uchenykh-nauka-vybor-budushchego.html). The plenary session opened with a welcoming address to the participants of the School of Young Scientists, read on behalf of the Chairman of the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, Vladimir Stepanovich Karanik.

The program of the first day was focused on systemic issues of scientific activity. At the plenary session, reports were delivered by the Chairman of the Higher Attestation Commission of the Republic of Belarus Alexander Guchok, the Chief Scientific Secretary of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus Vasily Gursky, the Director of the Belarusian Institute of System Analysis and Information Support Vladimir Susha, the Rector of the University of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus Marat Zhilinsky, the official representative of the company “Anti-plagiarism” in Belarus for training Irina Strelkova, the Scientific Secretary of the Central Scientific Library of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus Irina Komenda, and the Chairman of the Council of Young Scientists of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus Maxim Kuchvalsky.

The speeches of the presenters aroused genuine interest and a lively response from the audience. Participants actively asked questions concerning the procedure for the certification of scientific personnel, the use of modern information resources, and measures of state support for talented youth. This format of interaction allowed young scientists to receive direct answers to questions important for their careers.
